Stop the Money Pipeline and Defund Formosa
October 6 @ 5:00 pmFree
Formosa Plastics wants to build a massive 14-plant petrochemical complex on the banks of the Mississippi River in St. James, Louisiana. This complex would have devastating and fatal consequences for people living in the area that’s already known as Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley.”
The predominantly Black community of St. James Parish is already overburdened with pollution. But St. James is fighting back, together with activists from around the world — including Texas, Taiwan and Vietnam — who have also been harmed by Formosa’s toxic track record.
During the webinar we will learn the history of environmental racism in the Gulf, learn the story of struggles from RISE St James and other Black-led community orgs on the frontlines, and take action on the banks and financial institutions that stand ready to profit from more environmental racism unless the Formosa Plastics project is stopped.
Register now to learn what’s next in the fight to stop Formosa from building this toxic petrochemical complex.
