Stop Exxon’s Dirty Oil-Trucking Plan
September 29 - October 1
Tell the Santa Barbara Planning Commission to protect our safety and the environment by averting this disaster in the making at the hearings about this project on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1.
ExxonMobil plans to reopen decrepit offshore platforms in the Santa Barbara Channel and truck crude oil up treacherous California highways, threatening public health, the climate and marine wildlife. First Exxon wants to restart drilling from three corroded, problem-ridden offshore platforms that were shut down in 2015 after the Plains Pipeline spill. Then, it wants to transport the drilled oil using up to 70 trucks a day, driving 24/7 along winding Highway 101 and Route 166.
