Elders Climate Action Retreat – Becoming a Good Ancestor

What does it means to be a Good Ancestor in today’s world? The answer to that question has changed dramatically in just one or two generations, and we now know that what we do today will determine the air our great-grandchildren breathe, the climate in which they will live…even the plants and animals that will still share the planet with them. What values and lifestyles must we embrace now to create a sustainable, regenerative future?

This retreat is designed for ECA NorCal members and others who are
deeply concerned about climate issues to meet in person after three years
of connecting only via Zoom calls. The intent is to get to know each other
on a personal level, deepen our relationships, and come together around
the common goal of becoming a good ancestor. To facilitate this,
enrollment will be limited to 40 participants.

Roman Krznaric’s book, The Good Ancestor, will serve as the launchpad for
the retreat and retreatants are encouraged to read the book beforehand and bring the book with them to the retreat.
