Today Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey reintroduced the Green New Deal Resolution, along with announcements of bills sponsored by members of Congress who support the resolution. The resolution is gathering more and more support and has a growing number of sponsors in Congress.
According to The Hill: “Markey said during Tuesday’s press conference that he and Ocasio-Cortez are also introducing a Civilian Climate Corps bill to put people to work and help the environment.
Biden has endorsed the idea of a Civilian Climate Corps to create jobs by conserving and restoring public lands, boosting resilience and increasing reforestation.”
Rep. Cori Bush is introducing a bill to fund a Green New Deal in cities across the country.
California Senator Alex Padilla joined the press conference in support of the resolution. It might be a good time to thank @SenatorPadilla and encourage him to continue being a climate champion.
